Is everybody's Mental Health ok in your hybrid organisation? Probably not!

In a hybrid organisation, where employees have the flexibility to work remotely or in the office, it can be challenging for managers to keep tabs on their team's mental health. While working from home can offer many benefits, it can also create a feeling of isolation, leading to depression and anxiety.

The Ryanair Model:

Here are some tips to ensure that everyone in your hybrid organisation is okay.

Firstly, it is crucial to create a culture that encourages openness and transparency. Employees should feel comfortable talking about their mental health struggles without fear of judgment or repercussions. Managers should communicate the importance of mental health regularly, emphasising that seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Secondly, establish regular check-ins with your team. Use these opportunities to discuss workload, projects, and any challenges your team may be facing. Also, take the time to ask about their mental health. Ask how they are doing, how they are feeling, and if there is anything you can do to help.

Thirdly, make sure that employees know how to access mental health resources. Provide information on employee assistance programs, counselling services, and mental health hotlines. Consider offering mental health days or time off for therapy appointments.

It's also essential to lead by example. Managers should prioritise their own mental health and practice self-care regularly. Encourage employees to do the same, reminding them that taking care of their mental health is just as important as taking care of their physical health.

In conclusion, creating a mentally healthy work environment in a hybrid organisation requires ongoing effort and commitment. It's essential to establish a culture of openness, regularly check in with your team, provide mental health resources, and lead by example. By doing so, you can help ensure that everybody in your hybrid organisation is okay.
